The Coalition Against Surprise Medical Billing is raising awareness about the importance of preserving the landmark patient protections included in the No Surprises Act, particularly as new profit-driven lawsuits threaten to weaken the law.

Since the law took effect on January 1, 2022, millions of Americans have been protected from the threat and financial harm of surprise medical bills. Patients waited far too long for these important protections, which were passed by a bipartisan majority in Congress, signed into law by President Trump, and implemented by President Biden. Patients deserve to benefit from these long-awaited protections and cannot afford to go back in time to a place where private-equity backed providers were allowed to take advantage of a broken system.

That’s why the Coalition Against Surprise Medical Billing, our members, and allies are calling on the Biden Administration to support full implementation of the No Surprises Act. See the recent sponsored content here.
